How We Rated The Projectors
For the last few Christmases, we’ve started to use a Christmas light projector as an addition to our other decorations. Due to how cheap they are, we’ve tried and tested multiple projectors and we always get compliments from neighbours and people that walk past.
As you can see in the photo, we installed the projector into the grass using a ground stake and we then set it to our favoured projection mode with the supplied remote. They are so simple to use and each Christmas we use them to light up the front of the house as well as the garden.
As well as our experience and testing of multiple projectors, we also based our recommendations upon hours of research and a number of factors. Some of the factors that we considered included the choice of outputs, construction quality, ease of operation, timer functionality, projection adjustability, range, warranty and value.

In terms of how the Christmas light projectors work, below is a video we took of the Poeland device in action upon our house. We were very impressed with its build quality and projection and we get many compliments from our neighbours.
As mentioned above, we’ve tested and used a range of Christmas light projectors over the years and below is an example of a budget option we used last year. Although it didn’t project as much light as the Poeland alternative in the video above, it still provided a great light show upon our house at Christmas.
Conclusion
Christmas light projectors save the hassle of climbing on ladders and unravelling your fairy lights each year. Instead, they simply plug in to an extension lead and you can then position the projection onto your house or garden to best suit your requirements. Many projectors also provide the option of a ground stake or floor installation too.
All of our recommendations listed above include a selection of projectors that either output LED laser lights or festive slides. Although we’ve included budget options, it’s always advised to invest slightly more into a high quality option because they’ll be able to withstand multiple Christmases outdoors.
