How We Rated
Over the many years of playing golf from juniors to adults, we’ve used a wide variety of electric trolleys. The first electric golf trolley I owned was a budget option that was powered by a lead acid battery. Although it worked great, it lacked many features that I wanted and it was due for an upgrade after years of heavy use. Luckily, out on the course, many of the other golfers that I play with allowed me to test out their electric trolleys before upgrading myself.
As you can see below, I ended up choosing a premium Powakaddy option and it was certainly a worthwhile investment. It wasn’t the cheapest but after testing many electric golf trolleys, it was built to a much higher standard and offered plenty of functionality and performance from its lithium battery. There were plenty of more expensive options available but we felt that this model offered the best value and all the functionality we required.

As well as testing multiple electric golf trolleys, we also based our recommendations upon plenty of research and a number of factors. Some of the factors that we considered included the build quality, battery type, performance, speed settings, ease of operation, integrated display, folding mechanism, warranty and value.
Conclusion
Electric golf trolleys are an expensive piece of golfing equipment and they are best suited to experienced golfers. Depending upon your budget, you have a great selection of trolleys to choose from that are powered by either a lead acid or lithium battery. Lithium powered trolleys are the best option to consider due to their compact size and improved performance. However, they do come with a premium price tag, which isn’t ideal for those that are on a tight budget.
All of our recommendations listed above are suitable for all budgets and are packed full of functionality. However, to avoid disappointment, we strongly recommend purchasing a backup battery if you intend to play multiple courses in a single day. If you require any further information, feel free to get in touch and we will try to help out where possible.
