How We Rated
Unless you are using an artificial or fibre optic Christmas tree that comes with its very own stand, you’ll need to purchase one separately in order to hold the tree.
Over the years, we’ve owned multiple and this is primarily due to moving house where we went from having small ceilings to very tall ceilings. This meant that we needed to get a bigger stand that can handle a larger tree. We’ve also owned cheaper alternatives that we upgraded due to the fact that it struggled to hold our tree one year.
As you can see in the photo, the difference in size between the two stands we currently own is quite clear. The larger stand is also far more sturdier with metal bolts as opposed to plastic bolts in order to hold the tree.

As well as our experience of using a number of Christmas tree stands, we also based our recommendations upon hours of research and multiple factors. Some of the factors that we took into consideration included the max tree height and trunk diameter, construction quality, water tank capacity, ease of installation, additional features and warranty.
Conclusion
Investing into a quality stand for your Christmas tree is highly advised and there is plenty to choose from. All of our recommendations listed above are suitable for a range of tree sizes and budgets. However, to avoid disappointment, it’s strongly advised that you choose a stand that’s designed for the tree’s height and trunk diameter.
